Peach Maki & Butterfly Maki

Brought this book from Hong Kong.  It shows ways to make fancy maki in details.  It was my uncle's birthday on Labour Day - 1st May, decided to make some maki for the birthday party.

Saw this page, well, Chinese believe peach is representing long life, this should please the birthday boy, and to remind him that he is old too (my uncle is just 10 years elder than me)

Peach maki made by me with great success!

With plenty of rice remaining, I tried out this page too -  the butterfly maki

Butterfly maki, for the kids

Do u like these maki?

Hi, Emily! Haven't see ur comment for a while, been busy?

Actually, this was my 2nd attempt, I made the crab maki at Feb, can see the shape of crab, but it was as big as a palm, too 'pai say' to take photo :p

wow! Very Impressive. LOL about the crab - reminded me of my boat maki - it was huge too. Next time don't paisay lah. I remember you made a very nice rosebud too some time ago.

3lilangels: I got to know the crab maki from u actually. Now, with the help of this book (it gave measurements of rice used, nori sizes, etc) , the maki still big but not huge like whole hand, hahaha.... Only need to improve my skill lah LOL!
