Daiso @ The Curve, Mutiara Damansara

You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town...

Eh! No wait, should be....

Daiso is coming to town!

Daiso, is in town at last! I was there this morning! I reached there at about 10.30am, sound kiasu huh! Actually, I just wanna avoid the weekend crowds, ok, ok, I admit, with a bit of kiasu, cos afraid some of those bento goodies will be "sapu" by ppls.

They were not open by the time I reached there, staffs there said would open after 11am. Ok, went over to Nichii, checked out some dresses and shoes. Finally, 11am, still no sign of opening, waited for another 5 minutes, able to hear "Dong dong cang! Dong dong cang!" from far, guess what, even the lions were dancing to Daiso! Eh! Why so typical Chinese? Japanese believe in lion dance oso meh? I was so regretted of not bringing little girl to see these.

Have u ever seen lions using escalator, not so cool huh! They supposed to be like Jackie Chan jumping here and there or throwing some stunk to reach Daiso, :)

The lion dance and opening ceremony took about 45 minutes, I was "cursing" (in my mind only, of course) for the long wait. For the 1st time in my life, watching lion danced so impatiently.

Once the lion dance was over, SIL managed to rush over and both of us set our foot into Daiso! 1st place to check out in the store must be bento section lah, but it is called picnic section there. Bento items were some how be scattered between few shelves, it was like having a treasure hunt searching for those cute bento items.

So, things that I bought this round:

Animals food picks and sauce containers

Vegetable molds

Craft punches, most likely will use them as nori punch

Hello Kitty bowl, cup and plasters, well, I just couldn't resist of buying them for little girl, I like Hello Kitty too! ;p

Pink piggy shower cap

Glowing wide bracelets for little girl and little Y to play with either on X'mas's eve or New Year's eve

Hubby was shaking his head when he saw these purchase, and comment that I was a bit insane for spending over RM100 at Daiso @ Plaza Singapura and Daiso @ The Curve.

Day 2 Purchases in Singapore

We found this advertisement from newspaper last nite, since it is held near my cousin in law's house, of course we couldn't miss it.  We left home at about 12pm.

However, we stopped at the food court nearby to get the bottom items, My Melody name tag and jewelry set (bracelet and ring) before we headed to Tampines Mall.

The one on top is a Minnie Mouse ribbon hair clip we got from Toy'r us.

Then to NTUC Fair Price to get these pasta.

Then waited til 1pm for the show began, little girl was so happy to see Hello Kitty and My Melody live, she was ooh, ah, grinning thru out the show.

After the show, it was photo taking time, however, we didn't purchase enough to earn a voucher (didn't see clearly of the ad.), thus little girl couldn't have a chance to take photo with Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel, she was crying all the way out.

So trying to stop her cry and to comfort her, we offered her to play this token machine at Toy'r us.  She played twice, got this Hello Kitty key chain and the Minnie Mouse hair clip (at 2nd photo on top).

We bought this shoe for little girl after lunch, this will be her 2nd converse!  Hehehe... we r fan of converse!

We left S'pore at 4pm, spent some time and had dinner at Skudai, reached home at about 1am, a tiring journey back home.

Day 1 Purchases in Singapore

We started our journey from Seremban at about 10am, dropped MIL off at Skudai, Johor at about 1pm, then we headed off to S'pore.  Due to the traffic jam at Woodland immigration, we managed to reach Tampines, cousin in law's house slightly after 3pm.  Little girl was happy to see her cousins, she decided to stay back with them, let daddy mummy went out "pak toh" and shopping.

So we were off at about 4pm, 1st stop at Plaza Peninsula, hubby need to check out something there.  Next, we went to Plaza Singapura, I think most of u would know why, hehehe...  due to Daiso lah!  It was our 1st experience in Daiso and we were both amazed with the stock there, just like those 100 yen shop in Japan, jam packed with goods and ppl everywhere!  (I'm so looking forward to our Daiso @ The Curve's opening on Mon now.  Just realized the opening will be at 13 Dec 2008 Saturday!)

So here r things we bought in Daiso:

Sauce containers

Furikake container, bottle cap with straw and can cap

Garlic peeler and ice pack

Luggage tag

Microfiber PC cloth

Picnic mats

That was about all from Daiso, reserved some room for Daiso @ The Curve, hehehe....

Then we found these at some shops in the same mall while waiting for cousin in law's husband...

My Melody soft toy, little girl is a big fan of My Melody and Hello Kitty lately

Hello Kitty lip gloss and handkerchief

More gifts

It was truely a weekend full of gifts.  Those from bento party and this from an insurance agent friend F, it was a box of moon cake, but look at the box, so pretty!

Let's look at the contents, 4 nicely packed moon cakes and a beautiful mug with sifter and cover.  I gave the moon cakes to mum and got the mug for myself.

Then I received a package from a friend H on Mon, I'd sent her to Daiso to get me some bento accessories, and here are what she got me:

From top left, sea creatures cookie molds, animal onigiri mold, little animal spoons and forks, bear-bear bento belt, colorful food picks, heart-shaped silicon dish cups, and penguin-shaped silicon dish cups.

Little girls and me were terribly excited and happy this weekend!

Goodies from Bento Party

I'll start with the goodie bag, it contained so many items: bento box, pop-corns, brownie mix (I'd given to mum), recipe books, kikkomen shoyu, cookie cutter, sausage cutter, tooth paste, candies and some beauty products.

Things that I bought: pink bento bag (RM12 from Bento Pet), plastic cup, onigiri maker, bento belt, small containers and another bento bag (all these from 100yen shop, RM4.90 each).

Not forgetting the prize from Bento Pet, wow!  Lots of cute items and candies, can u see a little hand on the left, little girl couldn't wait to ransack it  :).  Sorry, I didn't take photo of it, cos there were too many items scatter around.  Let's steal some photo from Bento Pet's, see here...  ;)
